Jon Bon Jovi has officially stepped into a new chapter of life, he’s now a grandfather of two.
The 63-year-old rock icon’s son, Jesse Bongiovi, and his wife, Jesse Light, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Blair Lucy.
The couple announced the joyful news on Instagram on Nov. 10, sharing a photo of their newborn holding onto a finger while wearing a pink, blue and white striped beanie.
“Blair Lucy Bongiovi. Our sweet girl has arrived, and we couldn’t be happier. Welcome to the world, baby Blair bear,” they wrote in their joint caption.
Jesse and his wife, who married on May 7, 2024, in Las Vegas, celebrated their wedding at the same chapel where Bon Jovi and Dorothea Bongiovi eloped back in 1989.
The new parents first met in 2018 at the Surf Lodge in Montauk, N.Y., a special place where Bongiovi later proposed.
Before Blair’s arrival, Bon Jovi had hinted that the family was growing again.
Appearing on BBC’s The One Show, he shared, “It’s a new chapter in life, you know… I mean this, this next generation comes along and suddenly I have a granddaughter, another one coming next week.”
He summed up his biggest parenting lesson simply: “Let them be them.”
This marks the second grandchild for the Livin’ on a Prayer singer. Earlier this year, his son Jake Bongiovi and daughter-in-law Millie Bobby Brown welcomed a baby girl via adoption.
The couple announced the news in August, writing, “This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy… And then there were 3.”
After meeting his first grandchild, the proud rocker shared the name he plans to go by: “Papa.”
He told Today’s Savannah Guthrie that the bond was instant, saying, “Immediately you fall in love… you’re like, ‘That’s my granddaughter.’”
He joked that she won’t be walking anytime soon because “Papa will be carrying her everywhere she goes.”
Interestingly, his chosen grandpa name is also the name of a character from Brown’s series Stranger Things, where “Papa” watches over Eleven.
Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea share four children: Stephanie, 32, Jesse, 29, Jake, 23, and Romeo, 21. With baby Blair Lucy now in the family, the musician’s world just got a little brighter, and a lot sweeter.
